J.S.Bach - Orchestral Suite No.3

So far, Raymond Leppard has only been represented in these pages by a couple of (very splendid) recordings of symphonies by Sir Arnold Bax - but these were a bit off the beaten path for Leppard since he was very much a Baroque specialist. So it was about time we had some Baroque music from him, and what better than an Orchestral Suite (No.3) from J.S.Bach

British readers especially - or those of a certain age, at least - will be familiar with the theme from the Air from its use advertising Hamlet cigars on TV . . .

As usual, click on the scan of the album notes for information about the music.
