The multiple Grammy Award-winning composer and keyboard player Chick Corea died earlier this month (9th February, 2021) aged 79. At home in many musical styles, Corea expanded his musical horizons both with collaborations and his own groups. He was a leading light in the jazz fusion movement in the 1970s and 80s - most notably with his group Return To Forever. This had changes of personnel as it went on, but the lineup here - on the 1976 album Romantic Warrior - was one its most successful. Lenny White on percussion and Al DiMeola on guitars joined Corea's keyboards along with the prodigious bass genius that is Stanley Clarke.
From this album here is Clarke's The Magician, and Corea's Duel Of The Jester And The Tyrant (Part I & Part II).
