The Alan Parsons Project - The Fall of the House of Usher

The music of The Alan Parsons Project is no stranger to these pages, and it was inevitable that their debut album of 1976 - Tales of Mystery and Imagination - based around the writings of Edgar Allan Poe, would feature here at some point - albeit in the 1987 remix for CD that also added the narration of Orson Welles.

Instrumental tracks have always featured on 'Project albums, often with orchestral contributions by composer Andrew Powell, and the bar for these was set very high in this first album by an extended five-part Suite called The Fall of The House of Usher, which is featured in this video.
