Mulligan Meets Monk

West Coast cool meets East Coast radical - this 1957 pairing of Gerry Mulligan's lyrical baritone with Thelonious Monk's angular piano could have been a disaster, but instead was a remarkable meeting of contrasting styles.

Here is Mulligan's Decidedly and Monk's Straight, No Chaser . . . from a UK reissue of the original Riverside album.

Cartridge: Sumiko Starling MC
Phono amp: Graham Slee Accession MC
Turntable: CTC Classic 301 with SME M2-12R
