Back in July I posted the 6th Brandenburg Concerto from this splendid 1967 Das Alte Werk set by Nikolaus Harnoncourt and his Vienna-based original instrument ensemble.
The 4th Concerto has solo parts for violin and two "flauti d'echo". Modern performances often use transverse flutes, but historically informed groups are likely to use wooden alto (treble) recorders. In this performance the description of the instruments is given as "blockflöten".
