Havergal Brian - Symphony No.31 / The Tinker's Wedding


Following on from Havergal Brian's 6th, 9th and 10th symphonies here is his penultimate symphony - the single movement 31st along with the overture The Tinker's Wedding.

The 31st Symphony was written when Brian was 92 and living in Sussex. The Tinker's Wedding dates from 1948, the time of the 6th Symphony (Sinfonia Tragica), and like that work was inspired by the Irish poet J.M.Synge.
