The Nigerian Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen has appeared here before with a track from his 2009 album Secret Agent, and this time it's a track from his collaboration album with South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela.
Rejoice was recorded in 2010, with additional sessions added from 2019 - the year after Masekela's death. Many column inches have been written about this album, including this Allmusic review, a page from Jazz Journal, and this from Pitchfork.
This special edition release contains the original album, and new remixes - one of which is Agbada Bougou. The detailed notes from the release can be read below, and for the video I just used my iPhone rather than my usual Lumix camera.
