Pergament - Krelantems & Eldeling, ballet suite

Here is an orchestral suite from the ballet music for "Krelantems and Edeling" by Helsinki-born Swedish composer Moses Pergament. First performed in 1928 in Stockholm, the ballet was written with Les Ballets Russe in mind. Pergament's basically late-romantic musical style was influenced by Jewish and Nordic culture and by modernist developments - especially from Stravinsky - prevalent in Paris during his stay there.

Pergament was not only a composer, but also a conductor, writer and critic. Some of his writings are available here.
