Martinů - Jazz-inspired Compositions

Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů was one of many composers living in Paris in the 1920s and absorbing the many musical influences that were prevalent in the French capital. Like so many others, jazz influenced many of Martinů's works of the time - both rhythmically and harmonically - and a selection of these pieces appeared on this 1972 Supraphon record.
