Vivaldi - Wind Concertos

The Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741) was one of the most influential and prolific composers of the Baroque period. His concertos set a pattern followed by J S Bach in his Brandenburg Concertos, and his use of the then new single-reed clarinet instrument was pioneering. This PDF document is illuminating about finding the right clarinets for Vivaldi's concertos.

In the Gramophone review of this 1970 DG Archiv release (see the scan below) it was the concerto for 2 clarinets and two oboes that particularly caught the reviewers attention.
